From where I stand, New York is trying to re-evaluate its relationship with the unglamorous side of the garment industry, where and how the textiles are made.  This study/documentary Made in Midtown executed by the Design Trust for Public Space examines the importance of the the Garment District, the place where the American fashion industry makes it all happen.  I just happened to write music for several of the small video interviews of interesting and key players in the Garment District talking about it's significance.  Here's a link to some of the videos.  Please check out the entire site as there's not only more music but more importantly it's a very interesting subject.
